Hugo Lloris-9

I’ve struggled to rate Lloris properly over the past few matches because he hasn’t had much to do. All that changed yesterday for Tottenham’s French captain.

Perhaps it was the absence of Toby Alderweireld in front of him, but Lloris saw a lot of traffic against Leverkusen. He came up with two top-class saves to keep Spurs in the match. If Tottenham only had an average keeper, they would’ve capitulated yesterday. Fortunately, Spurs have Hugo Lloris.

Vincent Janssen-7.5

The Dutch striker came so very close to ending his scoring drought. He placed a lovely header off the crossbar in the first half that easily could have found the back of the net. Unfortunately, it was another near miss for Janssen.

The good news, is that he once again showed real strength in the box for Spurs. It’s only a matter of time before he lays the ball off for an attacker who blasts a shot home. That might occur before he actually slides one past a keeper.
