Danny Rose-8

Rose was all over the pitch against Leverkusen and was the one Spurs star who didn’t seem to run out of energy in the second half. In truth, his sparkling effort deserved more than a 0-0 draw.

Was he perfect? Of course not, but his will to compete drug the rest of the squad along with him. His second half header also was a huge reason that Lloris was able to keep a clean sheet. It wasn’t Rose’s best match, but he continues to put in solid shift after solid shift.

Kieran Trippier-7.5

Trippier put in an excellent 90 minutes in place of the usual starter Kyle Walker. He did enough defensively to get by, and provided several excellent crosses into the box.

In particular, his first half pinpoint cross gave Dele Alli a terrific opportunity to head in a goal. If Alli buries that chance, lots of Spurs fans would be singing Trippier’s praises this morning. As it is, it was a good, but not great performance for the former Burnley star.
