Inter Milan: Three hopes, one fear
By Sean Maslin
It has been an easy road as of late for Inter Milan.
After the club’s epic run during the late 2000s and early 2010s where the side won five consecutive Serie A titles and the 2009-2010 Champions League crown the team has fallen on tough times.
But an aging roster, a rotating door of managers, Financial Fair Play violations and lackluster ownership led to the club’s fall from grace. Last season the club miraculously held on to fifth place in the Serie A standings (20-7-11, 67 points).
But hope springs eternal in the San Siro. With Suning Commerce Group having taken a majority share of the club over Erick Thohir (Thohir still has a minority stake and is the President of the side) and with the signing of midfielder of Joao Mario there is hope that Inter is back on the rise. However, poor early season form has new manager Frank de Boer on the ropes and is perhaps a sign that all is not right with Inter Milan.
There is a lot to talk about so let’s get started with the three hopes and one fear of Inter Milan!
