Tottenham dropped two points at Bournemouth

If Tottenham truly have designs on a Premier League title, they simply must find a way to win at places like Bournemouth. Instead of taking three points and heading to the top of the table, Mauricio Pochettino’s squad could only muster a scoreless draw against the Cherries.

Spurs have now drawn three matches in a row. The momentum the club enjoyed after thrashing Manchester City 2-0 seems like a distant memory. There’s no reason to panic, but Tottenham’s form needs to improve in a hurry.

Against Bournemouth, Pochettino’s attack just couldn’t find firm footing. There were a few memorable efforts at goal, but Spurs couldn’t sustain consistent pressure against Eddie Howe’s squad. Too much of the match was played in the middle third of the pitch.

The good news from Tottenham’s perspective is that their defense managed to produce another clean sheet. Hugo Lloris denied Charlie Daniels’ effort in the first half, but otherwise wasn’t really troubled in goal. Toby Alderweireld’s absence wasn’t felt on the defensive end of the pitch.

As you might expect, there weren’t many standout performances for Tottenham on the day. Read on to discover which Spurs stars played better than others.
