Erik Lamela-7.5

The one positive from the match was that Tottenham fans saw the “old Erik Lamela” come back into the fold. He wasn’t perfect against Bournemouth, but he was certainly Spurs’ most dangerous attacker.

More importantly, he made himself a factor in almost every phase of play. Some fans don’t like his reckless challenges, but they don’t bother me. He makes himself an absolute nightmare to play against. That makes other fans hate him, but I love him for it.

Moussa Sissoko-5

The Frenchman took one step forward in his substitute appearance against Leverkusen, but took two steps back with a really poor outing today. Instead of contributing anything positive to his club’s efforts, all he did was manage to involve himself in a silly altercation.

Sissoko’s most memorable moment of the match was a vicious elbow he threw against Harry Arter. I fully expect the FA to suspend the midfielder as a result of the hit. It was a dirty play from a man who couldn’t find a way to impact the match with his actual skill.
