Moussa Dembele-7.5

In my mind, the Belgian midfielder was Tottenham’s best player on the afternoon. He gave his club a real foothold in the midfield. Spurs could have been overrun if not for his strength in possession.

He even managed to use his skills to carry the ball forward into the final third on several occasions. When he did, it produced Tottenham’s best chances to score on the afternoon. Dembele should consider himself unlucky that his quality play wasn’t enough to secure all three points for his squad.

Victor Wanyama-7

The Kenyan destroyer’s performance was justifiably overshadowed by his partner Dembele’s, but Wanyama was excellent in his own right. His physical presence proved to be a huge obstacle for Bournemouth’s attacking players all match long.

I was particularly impressed with how Wanyama managed to avoid even picking up a yellow card in the match. It was a really physical affair and the referee certainly wasn’t afraid to show a caution. Wanyama has the reputation of being a hot head, but we haven’t seen any real evidence of that during his time at Spurs.
