2. Vincent Janssen hasn’t come through

Repeat after me Tottenham fans: Vincent Janssen is not Roberto Soldado. Yes, both strikers have struggled to score during their time with the club, but they are really nothing alike as players.

Soldado was a striker whose effectiveness was entirely based on finesse and finishing ability. Anyone who’s watched Janssen for any length of time certainly understands that his game is much more based on power.

Unfortunately, being a bear in the box hasn’t allowed the Dutch international to score in open play at Tottenham as of yet. He’s gotten himself into some good positions, but just hasn’t been able to find the back of the net.

Time will tell if he’s able to overcome his poor start to his Tottenham’s career to become a valuable member of the squad. At this point, I can’t really decide what I think of him. He does some excellent things in creating opportunities for his teammates, but in the end, his job is to score goals. Hopefully he can kick on soon.
