Keeper and Centre Backs
Don’t expect Pochettino to risk any of his usual starters at these three key positions. Spurs are already playing without Toby Alderweireld, and won’t risk getting else injured at Anfield.

Look for Kevin Wimmer and Cameron Carter-Vickers to get the starting nod as the club’s centre back pairing. The Austrian proved his worth to Spurs fans last year, while the young American has reportedly impressed Pochettino in training.
It will be good to see the pairing get meaningful match time in what should be a difficult road environment. Each star is just an injury away from being forced into significant playing time at this point.
I would also be shocked to see Hugo Lloris see the pitch at Anfield. He will undoubtedly want to help his club advance, but Pochettino will see discretion as the better part of valor here. Michel Vorm will be tasked with stopping Jurgen Klopp’s attack.
