Michel Vorm-8.5
The final score line could have been much uglier if not for Vorm’s heroics. He didn’t have much of a chance on either of Sturridge’s goals and successfully saved at least two other high-quality efforts.
He’ll never unseat Hugo Lloris at the starter, but he’s a terrific safety blanket for Mauricio Pochettino. Spurs should think twice before they pass the backup keeper torch to Pau Lopez. Vorm is still an excellent option.
Kevin Wimmer-6
If Wimmer has been training like he played against Liverpool yesterday, then I understand why Pochettino is starting to lose confidence in him. He put in a very uneven performance against Liverpool’s talented attack.

Specifically, he was largely at fault for Liverpool’s second goal. He failed to play a high enough line to equal Cameron Carter-Vickers which rendered the Spurs’ offside trap null and void. It was a youthful mistake by a player who has quite a bit of big game experience.
If Wimmer wants to break back into the starting XI, he’ll need to play much better. He didn’t help his case in the slightest yesterday.
Cameron Carter-Vickers-6.5
The American centre back didn’t have his best match, but it was good to see him compete against such elite competition. He certainly struggled against Sturridge, but even quality Premier League regulars can struggle with him while he’s in-form.
The key indicator for Carter-Vickers is that he seemed to grow into the match as it progressed. He played his best football towards the end of the 90 minutes. The bulky defender isn’t ready for prime time football yet, but he isn’t too far away.
