Eric Dier-7

I’ve been very critical of the physical midfielder lately, but he took a step forward against Liverpool. He wasn’t quite back to his form from last season, but he wasn’t miles away either.

During the first half, he really helped to support young Harry Winks. He stabilized the middle of the pitch even when Winks seemed a bit nervy on the ball. Dier’s play should give him some confidence moving forward.

Harry Winks-6.5

The young Englishman played a pretty uneven 90 minutes. On the bright side, he pushed forward from deep-lying positions and really provided some energy for Spurs.

Unfortunately, his lack of defensive acumen really showed up in the second half. I’m not sure if Winks was just tired, or if he was out of his depth. His lack of size may prevent him from really becoming a Premier League standout for a few more seasons.

Victor Wanyama-7.5

The match drastically changed when the Kenyan destroyer stepped onto the pitch. He couldn’t quite bring Tottenham a victory, but he gave his attacking teammates a fighting chance to find an equalizer.

At this point, we really shouldn’t be surprised at Wanyama’s stellar play. He’s been a pillar of consistency for Spurs. Pochettino’s confidence in Wanyama should only continue to grow with performances like these.
