With the Bundesliga now in full swing, Bayern Munich may not be as dominant as previous seasons – following draws against Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt – but their football under Carlo Ancelotti is certainly a breath of fresh air.

Last season saw the Bavarian club clinch their record 26th Bundesliga title, but they were also dealt with the news that Pep Guardiola would be departing the league holders to take charge of Premier League outfit Manchester City.

The question remained as to who would take charge of Bayern, and would he be as successful as Pep? Step up former Real Madrid and PSG coach, Ancelotti.

A step away from their fluidity under Guardiola, the Italian tactician installed a type of football that involves a more “cautious” playing style, according to Joshua Kimmich.

Unlike under the former coach, Ancelotti does not set up his team to play pressing football for 90 minutes, but instead, Bayern now attack in phases which creates more space.

Whilst at the beginning of the season the 4-3-3 formation played by Ancelotti raised question marks, this Bayern Munich side is finally starting to find its groove which is likely to see them win the Bundesliga for the fifth year in a row.
