Montreal Impact: Three hopes, one fear
By Sean Maslin
The big fear: That they cannot win at RFK Stadium.
In five matches all-time at RFK Stadium the Impact have yet to earn a win against their Eastern Conference foes. Although they have pipped off two ties (including one this season) they have been outscored in their matches against United 9-3. While there is no doubt that Montreal has been a very different side over the past two years their struggles on the road this season should put some fear in their supporters’ minds.

But if there is one thing about this Montreal Impact side is that there team are a bunch of fighters. Take their pair 1-1 results against United earlier in the season. While they did go down early in both matches they did bear down and come back in both matches to earn results. Considering also that the match at RFK happened in a nasty rain storm that is even more impressive.
Problems like going down early or the Drogba might cripple other sides. But the Impact and coach Mauro Biello have faced pretty much everything this season and overcome it.
Can the Impact overcome one more thing and move on in the playoffs? It is going to be a difficult assignment but there is perhaps no better side equipped to handle the pressure.
