2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Borussia Dortmund

Quite literally the fastest man on the pitch, Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has the ability to leave Bundesliga defenders and goalkeepers in the dust. The Gabon international has seven goals in as many matches in the current season.

Aubameyang came up through AC Milan’s youth system in Italy and displayed potential, but found playing time hard to come by. Various loans to clubs in France eventually led him to Saint-Etienne, signing a permanent deal in 2011. The 2012-13 season saw Aubameyang tear up Ligue 1, as his 19 goals was second best only to the absurd exploits of Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Paris Saint-Germain.

Former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp knew he had something special when he and the club signed Aubameyang the following summer. Over 50 goals later, the high-press system utilized by Klopp and his successor Thomas Tuchel has seen the dynamic forward shine brighter and brighter with each passing season.

With incredible work from teammates like Marco Reus and Shinji Kagawa around him, few forwards in the world get the quality service behind them like the reigning CAF African Footballer of the Year. Aubameyang’s pace, energy and scoring ability make him an unstoppable force in the Bundesliga.
