FC Dallas: Three hopes, one fear
By Sean Maslin
The big fear: That 3-0 is too big of a hole
FC Dallas certainly did not think that they would be going back home down to 3-0 in their two-legged series against Seattle. 1-0 or 2-0 sure. But 3-0? That is a hard pill to swallow for Dallas supporters and puts them in a very difficult position to advance. In MLS playoff history no side has ever come back from being down 3-0 in a playoff series to advance.

Now with that being said this series is far from over. As with pretty much every MLS side Dallas have been at their best when they play at home. Their 12-1-4 record is the best home record among all sides this season and their 33 goals is the best in the league. The Sounders know how good of a team Dallas is in the friendly confines of Toyota Park, having just lost to the Hoops 2-1 two weeks back.
But here is the problem for Dallas: they do not need to just win they need to win by 3 goals. Without Diaz that is a tall ask for Pareja’s side. They have proven the doubters wrong plenty of times this season. Can they do it one more time and get their hunt for the treble back on track? For any other side it would be impossible. But Dallas is not just any other side and will certainly make things interesting on Sunday.
