Expect Tottenham to go on the attack against Bayer Leverkusen

It’s plan to see that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino and the rest of the Spurs squad are sick and tired of draws. That’s why I expect Pochettino to pick a very attack minded starting 11 for Wednesday’s pivotal Champions League clash.

Fortunately for Spurs, they’re still in a relatively strong position in the group despite their opening loss against Monaco. A scoreless draw at Leverkusen went a long way towards quieting the club’s fears about not being able to advance to the Knockout Stage.

Don’t expect for Tottenham to come out with anything resembling a cautious mindset on Wednesday. This match will be about more than Champions League positioning. Instead, it will be about generating momentum in advance of this weekend’s North London Derby.

To enter the crucial Arsenal match with a positive mindset, Spurs need to secure a victory against Leverkusen. To do that, Tottenham will need to score some goals. That’s why Pochettino will start this, attack minded starting XI to get the job done.
