Wingers

Most Tottenham fans reading this piece are probably chuckling a little bit at the idea that Pochettino might start wingers in the match. Well, it’s time to stop the laughter. I believe Pochettino is going to start two legitimate wide players in a 4-4-2 formation.

That means that French starlet Georges-Kevin N’Koudou will get his first start in a Spurs shirt. He’s impressed everyone with his substitute appearance as of late, and thoroughly deserves the opportunity to start an important match. Look for him to inject some real life into the Tottenham attack with his pace and trickery out wide.

The other wing really represents a telling choice for Pochettino. The player who starts opposite of N’Koudou will probably start the Arsenal match on the bench. Unfortunately, I believe Pochettino will select Erik Lamela for that role.

The upside is that the Argentine should be well rested after missing out against Leicester City last weekend due to illness. He’s performed very well for Tottenham during European competition, and I expect him to put in an excellent match against Leverkusen.
