Watch these five matchups when Tottenham take on Bayer Leverkusen

Make no mistake about it, today’s Champions League match pitting Tottenham against Bayer Leverkusen could go a long way towards determining who advances to the Knockout Stages. Spurs head into the match with a single point edge over the Bundesliga club.

There’s still a lot to be decided when it comes to Group E. As I mentioned, Tottenham are ahead of Leverkusen, but still trail Monaco by a point for first place. CSKA Moscow certainly aren’t out of things either. They are lurking in fourth place just one point behind Leverkusen.

That all adds up to quite an interesting match between Tottenham and Leverkusen. Spurs managed a draw in Germany, but will be looking for all three points at home. To get the victory, they’ll need to exorcise some of their Wembley demons that plagued them against Monaco.

Unfortunately, Spurs will enter the match short-handed once again. Neither Harry Kane or Toby Alderweireld are likely to make Mauricio Pochettino’s match day squad. Of course, that means opportunity for some of the squad’s lesser known players.

The winner of these five matchups is going to come away with a valuable three points. Read on to discover the battles you should be watching when Spurs and Leverkusen tangle later today.
