4. Hakan Calhanoglu vs. Kieran Trippier

You may be surprised to see Trippier’s name on this list, but I’m backing the former Burnley star to get the start. Kyle Walker simply needs rest ahead of the North London Derby.

It won’t be an easy task for the English right back. He’ll need to work hard to keep Calhanoglu from finding success down the right flank. There’s a reason Spurs were reportedly interested in signing the classy winger this summer.

Don’t overlook the challenge the matchup could be for Calhanoglu though. He’s a terrific offensive player, but isn’t the most disciplined player on the pitch. If he fails to keep track of Trippier when Spurs are in possession, the results could be very costly.

From a Tottenham perspective, they’d probably be happy to come out of this matchup with a draw. If Trippier can play well enough to cancel Calhanoglu out, it’s a win for Spurs.
