4. Physicality in the midfield

Tottenham purchased Victor Wanyama for matches like this. The Kenyan destroyer will have a huge role to play in helpings Spurs control the midfield.

I’m backing Wanyama to control the middle of the pitch with his bruising, physical style of play. Arsenal are blessed with a lot of attacking skill, but they still are guilty of having a slightly vulnerable underbelly.

Gunner fans will hope for Granit Xhaka to tip the scales in their favor, but I think the young Swiss midfielder will be overwhelmed by the occasion. If I were Arsene Wenger, I wouldn’t feel comfortable starting him in such an emotional contest.

If Wanyama can intimidate Arsenal’s attackers in the middle of the pitch, it’s going to give Tottenham a terrific chance to win the match. The former Southampton star has every skill necessary to come up big in this North London Derby.
