Mesut Ozil

Mesut Ozil is the man of the moment for Arsenal. The German international has been tearing the opposition apart as of late. His incredible individual effort against Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad on Wednesday in the Champions League was the match-winner in a 3-2 victory.

Much has been made of the goal over the past few days, but this one particular sequence manages to showcase much of what makes Ozil such a special player. His control of the ball, sense of direction, timing and patience were all done so with exactly zero regard for the opposition’s skill or tactical approach.

Ozil has tallied seven goals and added three assists across all competitions thus far in 2016-17 and he has been on a fantastic run as of late. His ability to connect with Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud in the attack has been phenomenal.

Since joining Arsenal during the 2013-14 campaign, Ozil has provided Giroud with 12 Premier League assists. That incredible number is bound to be on the rise moving ahead.

Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier will need to be organised in the midfield and in the defence to keep Ozil in check throughout the match. With too much space given to operate, Ozil will be able to wreak havoc in the final third.

Expect to see fine passing and more moments of magic from Arsenal’s talented midfield maestro on Sunday.
