Danny Rose v Nacho Monreal

The left back position features two very different players in this match. Danny Rose will look to burn Arsenal with his athleticism, while Nacho Monreal will rely on his skill to torment Spurs.

The common perception is that Monreal is the superior player. Unfortunately for Arsenal, the facts don’t back that opinion up this season. Rose has taken a serious step forwards under Mauricio Pochettino and that gives him the edge in this matchup.

In simple terms, Rose has a pretty significant advantage in terms of Whoscored.com player rating this season. His mark of 7.52 gives him a clear advantage of Monreal’s mark of 7.18. Both players are above average Premier League regulars.

Rose is just the more dynamic player of the pair. He probably has more potential to play a bad match, but his upside makes him the winner here. Critics of my call here just haven’t watched enough of Rose’s player under Pochettino.

Advantage: Tottenham
