Defensive Midfielder: Victor Wanyama, Tottenham

For the second straight year, Tottenham have signed a player from Southampton who’s come into the squad and been an instant revelation. It was Alderweireld last year. This year, it’s Wanyama.

The Kenyan holding midfielder has strengthened Spurs with his defensive physicality and his excellent passing range. Though he’s not a prolific goal scorer, Wanyama got off the mark in his Tottenham home debut, a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

Central Midfielder: Dele Alli, Tottenham

A year after winning PFA Young Player of the Year, big things were expected from Alli this season. He hasn’t disappointed.

After a 10-goal campaign as a 19-year-old, Alli has kicked off his age-20 season with three goals in 10 games. It’s hard to imagine on a team with Harry Kane, but Alli is Tottenham’s most prized asset on the roster.

Attacking Midfielder: Mesut Ozil, Arsenal

Ozil deserves to be on this list for that goal against Ludogarets alone. One of the most gifted creative players in the world, Ozil has now added goals to his repertoire, which should scare every EPL team.

After scoring eight goals all of last season, Ozil already has seven goals in all competitions to go along with three assists. Four of his goals have come against Ludogarets, but fortunately for the Bulgarian minnows, the two won’t meet again this season.

Left Winger: Christian Eriksen, Tottenham

Eriksen isn’t off to the hottest start for Tottenham, and certainly didn’t have the greatest showing this week against Leverkusen, but he’s still an impactful enough midfielder to take a spot in our XI.

Eriksen leads the Spurs with three assists this season and is counted on as a table-setter from all areas of the midfield. He’s also one of the more feared free kick specialists in the EPL, something you want in any lineup.

Right Winger: Son Heung-min, Tottenham

Three months ago, we weren’t even sure if Son would be on Tottenham, but his sparkling September gets him a spot in our XI easily.

With five goals in five September games, Son not only won Player of the Month, but he doubled his career total of EPL goals. He had four all of last season and has scored four this year to lead Tottenham.
