The Attacking Midfield

Tottenham simply have to get more production from their attacking midfield trio if they’re going to regain top form. Unfortunately, Pochettino isn’t blessed with a full complement of options for this pivotal match.

Dele Alli is almost certain to start the match as Spurs’ number ten. He doesn’t always play brilliant football, but he’s still Tottenham’s most dangerous attacking midfielder. Alli can turn the match in an instant with his offensive ingenuity.

The more interesting choices are who Pochettino elects to join Alli in the attacking trio. There’s a difference here in what I believe he’ll do and what I’d like to see the gaffer do on Sunday.

I would like to see Pochettino roll the dice and start both Son Heung-Min and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou. Starting both would give the Tottenham attack real width. Things have been entirely too congested in the middle of the Spurs attack as of late.

Unfortunately, I’m guessing that only Son gets the nod. Christian Eriksen will likely get the start on the other wing. The Danish attacker is mired in a dreadful slump. It would be brilliant if he could break out of his malaise against the Gunners.
