Ranking Arsenal’s summer signings

Lucas Perez
Arsene Wenger may have failed in the pursuit of forwards like Higuain and Lacazette, but Arsenal’s manager did bring in a talented striker with a strong goal-scoring record. Spanish striker Lucas Perez was brought in from La Liga club Deportivo de La Coruna after an impressive season where he scored 17 goals.
Perez brings a bit of a different dynamic to the Arsenal squad. Certainly more than capable of operating successfully in a centre-forward role, Perez’s skill on the ball and incredible stamina see him cover large portions of the pitch throughout a match. Found on the wing and in the midfield, the 28-year old is able to create scoring chances from a variety of different scenarios and situations.
The new signing took some time to get into the line-up, but had been performing well in recent matches. Two goals in an EFL Cup victory at Nottingham Forest and two assists in a Champions League romp over Ludogorets Razgrad showed a great indication that Perez was ready to contribute more to the Gunners.
An unfortunate ankle injury in a cup match against Reading has Perez sidelined until next month and has stalled some of the progress he had been making.
However, it is clear that Wenger found a dynamic player that will be able to both create and score goals for Arsenal.
