4. Son Heung-Min needs to toughen up

When the Korean attacker pulled out of a potential 50/50 challenge against Petr Cech in the second half I almost lost my mind. We’re talking about the North London Derby here. You can’t pull out of that challenge.

Instead, you go into it headlong and live with the consequences. At worst, you spear Cech and get sent off late in the match. The upside, of course, was a goal that could have given Spurs a huge victory. The odds certainly skew heavily towards that outcome.

It wasn’t just that play though. Son struggled to shrug off Arsenal defenders at numerous times during the match. If he were just a bit stronger, he’d find himself into some really dangerous positions with the ball at his feet.

If Son is going to become a real regular under Pochettino, he’s going to have to get stronger and tougher. Otherwise, he’s going to find himself back on the bench when everyone is fit.
