3.) Seattle Sounders
The Seattle Sounders has very quietly never found themselves topping the mountain at the end of an MLS season. For a club that has experienced so much success in their short stay in MLS, the Cup has always eluded them.
The Sounders have won nearly everything on offer for an American soccer club as they have won four U.S. Open Cups in their eight MLS seasons and a Supporters Shield to boot. They have also never failed to qualify for the playoffs and were able to reach the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Champions League.
That past success means that the Sounders fans have been spoiled rotten as they expect their club to compete year in and year out. For this high level of past success, albeit not in the playoffs, Seattle comes in after the two Canadian clubs. They are ahead of Colorado, however, because the MLS Cup is the biggest prize in American soccer.
