3. Marco Verratti

The Paris Saint Germain midfielder is one of the most sought after players in the world. Marco Verratti has been linked with Real Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan in the past. But Jose Mourinho could look to bring the Italian international to Manchester United.

There were rumors that his former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic told Mourinho to sign Verratti in the July following his move to United. The move did not materialize in the summer though, as Manchester United went on to sign Paul Pogba.

They could move for Verratti in January however, as Jose Mourinho looks to find a long-term replacement for veteran midfielder Michael Carrick. Verratti is only 24, and has already established himself as a regular for both club and country.

He is considered one of the best holding midfielders in Europe, and a big money move to England might not be so far away for the Italian. It remains to be seen who signs him though. With PSG set to demand a fee for his services, not many clubs will be able to afford him. A move in January is highly unlikely, but Manchester United could move early in order to avoid competition for his purchase.
