1. Bastian Schweinsteiger
The forgotten man. The marquee signing of last summer was cast out by Mourinho, having had to train with the reserves for a while. It was only recently that he returned to training with the first team. He hasn’t managed a single minute of play or on the bench as a result, and he probably won’t play in United colours anytime soon again.

Last season under Louis Van Gaal, he actually played when he wasn’t injured – bringing a sense of composure and calmness to the team when required. At 32, there is still some engine left in the tank. Perhaps not on the high levels that he has been used to playing at for much of his career but there will be many MLS clubs who will be after him considering that earlier in the season he had stated that a European destination was not on the cards.
There is a lot of mystery that surrounds this one given that he would be an experienced head in the team to use in where United will soon be competing in 4 competitions when the FA Cup kicks off. But with Mourinho not being a fan at this stage of his career, an exit looms for the German legend.
