The unfortunate one

Eduardo Alves Da Silva is a Brazilian-born Croatian footballer that once had a word class potential before a terrible leg injury that nearly ruined his football career while with Arsenal.

He began his career with Dynamo Zagreb in 2001 and his prolific goal scoring record of 71 in 109 appearances for his boyhood club put Arsenal on notice. The club confirmed Eduardo’s deal on July 3, 2007 for a reported fee of £7.5 million.

On February 23, 2008, the Croatian striker suffered a broken left fibula and dislocating his left ankle in a game against Birmingham City, after a tackle by Martin Taylor.

Eduardo finished his Arsenal career with 7 goals in 41 games, before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in 2010-14 and 2015.
