Limited opportunities forced the Ivorian exit

Gervhino started his career in Abidjan youth academy where he was given a Brazilian style nickname because of his flamboyant style of play.

Originally name Gervais Yao Kouassi, signed with Lille on July 29, 2009 for a reported fee of  €6 million. His 28 goals in two seasons led to Gunners signing the Ivorian international, but because of limited opportunities, Gervhino left Arsenal to join Seri A side AS Roma in August 2013 after completing 63 matches for the club.

In January 2016, the former Lille star then took his talent to Chinese Super League to join newly promoted team Hebei China Fortune for a reported fee of  €18 million.
