The best American to ever do it?

Clint Dempsey began his career with Major League Soccer club New England Revolution in 2004, before he abscond to English side Fulham for a then record fee for an MLS player in December 2006.

In his five-years with Fulham, Dempsey tallied 50 goals in 184 games and became fan favorite when he scored a goal that essentially saved Fulham from relegation in May 2007.

In August 2012, Tottenham Hotspur acquired Deuce, where he made 29 appearances (22 starts) and netted 7 goals before transferring to Seattle Sounders in 2013. He’s still a key member of the USMNT, but how much longer will the Furman star continue to play a prominent role for his country?
