5 players Tottenham should buy in January
4. Morgan Schneiderlin
It’s no secret that Manchester United are anxious to unload the French midfielder this January. Tottenham would be wise to reunite Schneiderlin with his former manager.
It’s possible that United would be hesitate to off load him to a Premier League rival, but that hasn’t been the sentiment emanating from Old Trafford as of late. Word on the street is that Jose Mourinho will move Schneiderlin for a relatively modest transfer fee.
Similar to Brozovic’s situation, Tottenham don’t necessarily need a player at Schneiderlin’s position on the pitch. The club have quality defensive midfield options.
This move is about trying to add a potentially world-class player that’s currently undervalued. If Spurs could acquire him on the cheap, and he regains the form he showed at Southampton, it could make a dramatic difference on the squad.
