5 players Bayern Munich should sell
Rafinha is past his use-by date.
Not for the first time, Rafinha looked to be a player that was departing Bayern Munich when Pep Guardiola however, the Brazilian was yet another great footballer under the Spaniard.
A right-back by trade, the Brazilian is now established across the defence, as well as central midfield.
However at 31-years-old, it’s time for the former Schalke defender to step aside and let some of the younger players take his place in the first team.
Rafinha came an integral part of the squad under Guardiola, but now that Carlo Ancelotti is in charge of the German giants, it’s expected that he wouldn’t last three years under the former PSG and Real Madrid coach, and so it’s time for him to move on.
With just four starts in the Bundesliga this season, Rafinha currently sits behind Philipp Lahm and young prodigy – and midfielder – Joshua Kimmich in the pecking order for the place at right-back.
Whilst experienced – having played in the Champions League and top flight football all his career – it looks as though Rafinha’s time at the Allianz Arena could soon be over, especially with the strengthening that Ancelotti is expected to do in the coming year.
Whether the Brazilian remains and does fight for his place in the team, remains to be seen.
