USA international Julian Green hasn’t shown enough potential.

United States international Julian Green has had a troubled spell in Munich, despite coming through the youth ranks at Bayern Munich.

Featuring just four games for the Bayern Munich first team, it’s very hard to see where his future lays in this setup, especially under new coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Germany may not be the place for Green, especially top flight anyway.

Green failed to settle in a poor Hamburger SV side where he spent the 14/15 season on loan, where he played just five times.

Prolific in Bayern Munich’s second team, Green has scored 25 goals in 51 appearances, but it looks as though he’s a long way off the first time.

Whilst his contact is up at the end of the season, it’s extremely unlikely that Ancelotti and the managing staff will want to keep the American-German in Munich for years to come.

The Italian tactician did give Green a chance, just to see what he could do.

More from Bundesliga

Green featured prominently throughout the pre-season, but failed to excel whilst it looked as though he didn’t have too much to show the new head coach.

A move away from Bayern Munich is definitely what Green needs to do if he wants to further his career.

At just 21-years-old, there is still a lot of promise for Green, who has played eight times for the national team, but a move away from Bayern – and perhaps to the MLS, would help develop the youngster.
