5 possible replacements for Luis Enrique at Barcelona
1. Frank de Boer
Okay, so this could be met by some snorts of derision after what recently happened to the Dutchman at Inter recently.
De Boer made the switch to Italy in the summer after leaving Ajax, the team with whom he made his name as a player and won four league titles as a coach. Inter have been down on their luck in recent years, and his appointment seemed like it could guide them to the light.
But he lasted just 14 games and 84 days before he was sacked, highlighting the deep-rooted issues at the San Siro. As for any links with Barcelona, de Boer’s name has come up previously.

Everybody knows the story of the Dutch influence in Catalonia, particularly Ajax, meaning de Boer has the philosophy required to succeed at the Camp Nou, having spent four years at the centre of their defence between 1999 and 2003.
Now he has a point to prove, too. No one can honestly point the finger in his direction for failing to wake Inter from their slumber, and his reputation, which was understandably growing in Amsterdam, should remain unscathed.
Barcelona are known for promoting from within, and while de Boer is not currently at the club, he enjoys a relationship with them. A lot would have to happen for this conclusion to become a reality, but everything fits. The current LaLiga champions could do much worse than looking towards their former man if Enrique departs.
