Sunderland

You may be noticing a bit of theme here. A struggling club with a manager favoured to be the next winner of the Premier League “sack race”. Currently residing at the bottom of the table, Sunderland and manager David Moyes could certainly be a major player for Daniel Sturridge’s signature in January.

Sunderland have only one victory thus far and have scored only nine goals, the lowest total in the league. Six of those nine have been scored by Jermain Defoe. The addition of Sturridge would provide another weapon at the top of the formation for the Black Cats.

The club have other needs within the squad as well and should be busy during the next transfer window. But Daniel Sturridge can be an option that transforms the attack. With Moyes preferring a 4-4-2 formation, a Sturridge-Defoe partnership could be one of the more effective and productive in the league.

The price tag will be an important element for the team, as transfer funds certainly need to go to more than just Sturridge. But with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp seemingly unaffected by the idea of Sturridge leaving and the player unhappy about his situation, Sunderland may just be able to negotiate a blockbuster deal.
