Arsenal

The classic conundrum. Arsenal, and especially Arsenal supporters, want a talented striker to lead the line.

Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette were both transfer targets over the summer. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly also tried to bring in Daniel Sturridge on loan just before the transfer deadline.

Wenger may again have that opportunity this coming January.

Daniel Sturridge within the Gunners’ line-up would provide a significant charge to the attack. With Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in support, Arsenal would be able to drive at the opposing goal in a variety of different ways. Depending on match situations or tactical preferences, playing alongside Olivier Giroud could have tremendous benefits also.

The arrival of Spanish striker Lucas Perez from Deportivo de La Coruna made the idea of a Sturridge loan deal seem irrelevant. But with Perez injured until next month, there are certainly no guarantees that he will be able to contribute as soon as he is back on the pitch.

With the Premier League title race perhaps more open than it ever has been before, Arsene Wenger may look to pull out all the stops to capture another Premier League championship with Arsenal. Signing Daniel Sturridge in January could be a move that helps achieve that objective for the North London side.
