Paris Saint-Germain

Daniel Sturridge will most likely look to stay in the Premier League this January if he does indeed leave Liverpool. However, if he does exit the English top flight, a European destination that makes a lot of sense would be Paris Saint-Germain.

The defending Ligue 1 champions bid farewell to Zlatan Ibrahimovic this past summer and would be eager to add more firepower to their attack. Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani has filled in well at the top of manager Unai Emery’s line-up so far in 2016-17, scoring 10 goals.

But currently sitting third in the league standings behind OGC Nice and AS Monaco may make ownership want to see more in the January transfer window. The Parisian club have qualified for the knockout round of the current UEFA Champions League tournament as well, so extra talent in the squad surely will be on their winter agenda.

More from Liverpool FC

PSG would be able to offer an impressive transfer fee, high wages and Champions League football for Daniel Sturridge.

However, it is never a given that English footballers will want to venture to different nations and different leagues. Sturridge certainly may want to remain in the Premier League. And with Cavani in the centre-forward position, Sturridge may find himself deployed in a less-favoured position out wide.

Daniel Sturridge is an extremely talented striker, combining pace and an accurate scoring touch. Club situations and injuries have slowed his progress at times. But in January, there will be no shortage of clubs in Europe looking to give him the stage to shine once more.
