Tottenham will miss several starters due to injury
It’s safe to say that International Break hasn’t been kind to Tottenham. Spurs, more than perhaps any other Premier League club, have been hit with a flurry of injuries to stars away on international duty.
You can be sure that Mauricio Pochettino won’t use those injuries as an excuse though. He still believes his squad has enough quality to defeat West Ham. The trick for Pochettino will be to select the right formation to take advantage of the players available for selection.
Against Arsenal, he threw everyone off by starting with three at the back. I don’t think we’re going to see anything so unusual against the Hammers. In fact, I believe Pochettino will revert back to us favorite 4-2-3-1 setup.
That decision will be partially due to philosophy, but is more a product of the injury crisis at the club. Pochettino simply doesn’t have a ton of attacking options fit for the match. Starting in a more conservative formation will allow him to get his top 11 available players on the pitch.
Read on to discover the makeshift lineup Pochettino will trot out against West Ham on Saturday.
