4. Miguel Herrera: The man more entertaining than the match

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of watching a Mexican National Team game between 2013-2015, you probably saw at least one camera shot of the sidelines and the crazy antics of Miguel Herrera. Another player turned coach, Herrera is a seasoned veteran in the coaching world whose style and energy would be a needed boost for a lifeless USMNT.

Herrera is familiar with the USMNT as he’s coached against them multiple times while commanding Mexico. It would be an interesting move to bring someone in that was once a sworn enemy of the United States, but, because of his experience game-planning against them, it gives him a chance to fix what he and others tried to exploit.

The thought of a coach from a former opponent is an intriguing notion. There is not an abundance of coaches who know the USMNT while also looking for work, but, with a person of Herrera’s caliber just occupying his time in Mexico with coaching in Liga MX, he could at least be worth an interview.

Fun fact: According to Wikipedia, Herrera is already the U.S. Coach.
