5 potential replacements for Jurgen Klinsmann
2. Jason Kreis: The man who loves to build and is darn good at it
Jason Kreis is a different chord from Klinsmann, but, the two do share the love of trying to build successful programs. Kreis is the man who can build a club up from the ground and make them great, aka, Real Salt Lake. His latest project, Orlando City SC. His time at NYCFC aside, Kreis is the type of coach who, given the proper time, can make any club a powerhouse.

Kreis appeared 14 times for the United States 1996-2000, tallying one goal against Jamaica. He also was part of Klinsmann’s staff in 2016, but, now with the head coach position open, there is an easier transition from assist to full-time coach.
U.S. Soccer want’s to win now and get into the 2018 World Cup, so, having a coach like Kreis might be a little premature right now. Had he come into power right after the 2014 World Cup, he would’ve had more time to properly build the team his way and be more established and not continue to tinker with tactics like Klinsmann continued doing till the bitter end.
Keep an eye on Kreis for future consideration depending on the person and length of contract handed out over the next few days. Kreis has the knowledge and experience to right the ship, but Gulati and company will likely not want to rebuild at this time.
