1. Bruce Arena: The Quick Fix

It’s already being reported by the LA Times and many others that Bruce Arena will replace Klinsmann as manager of the USMNT. Arena is coming to the end of his contract with the LA Galaxy in MLS, so the move to the National Team makes a lot of sense.

Let’s all be honest, the signing of Arena would be a quick fix to rally the troops and storm The HEX en route to Russia 2018. Arena served the USMNT from 1998-2006 and knows full well what it takes to qualify for a major tournament.

A federation spokesperson did confirm that Arena is a top candidate according to the Times. With Arena to take over, it is a move that fans are already divided on. Some believe he is the only person alive that can save the USMNT from their lost and terrible ways. Others believe he is worse that Klinsmann and would take more tactical torment instead of another go with the Galaxy boss.

More from USMNT

Time will tell of course what Gulati, Arena, Klinsmann and others decide to do with their careers going forward. However, USMNT fans should be excited for this change and the amount of coaches around that could summon the true potential of Bobby Wood, Christian Pulisic, John Brooks and many others.

If the USMNT fails to reach the 2018 World Cup with whoever takes over, it will be time for critics to come down on Gulati as a President and not just the person managing the national team.
