Tottenham have to find a silver lining

There’s quite a dark cloud around Tottenham at the moment. Players, club officials and fans are all in shock at the club’s failure to advance to the Champions League Knockout Round. The club and their supporters have to struggle to find positives in the ugly result at Monaco.

Let me be clear, failing to defeat Monaco is not a good thing for Tottenham. Don’t let any happy clapping Spurs fan try to convince you of that. The club clearly would have been much better off advancing further in the prestigious competition.

As with any great disappointment, it’s important to see the positives. Fortunately for Tottenham, there are some real positives that could result from their Champions League flame out. They aren’t results any Spurs fans wanted to see, but they exist nonetheless.

So Tottenham fans I invite you to put down the sharp objects and cease drinking your blues away. I’m here to give you some reasons for optimism in the aftermath of the club’s colossal failure in France yesterday. Read on to discover five ways Spurs could benefit from their poor showing.
