Tottenham head into Chelsea as a club in crisis

Mauricio Pochettino would have surely preferred an easier Premier League fixture after Tottenham’s Champions League flame out. Unfortunately, Spurs travel to league leaders Chelsea on Saturday in one of the weekend’ most interesting fixtures.

Stamford Bridge also happens to be the scene of a horror show for Tottenham last season. The club crippled under the immense pressure of the Premier League title race in what was a tumultuous London derby. The match was marred with violence and ultimately gave Leicester City the title.

Even if Tottenham had defeated Monaco midweek, the squad would surely be looking for revenge this weekend. The Champions League capitulation only adds to Tottenham’s need to secure an unlikely result against Antonio Conte’s squad.

Make no mistake about it, Tottenham are heading into this match as a wounded animal. Unfortunately, that’s not just a comment about their mental state. Pochettino’s squad also heads into the match missing several top stars due to injury and suspension.

That gives the manager quite a tall task heading into the weekend. Read on to discover the 11 men Pochettino will elect to start the match against Chelsea.
