Striker and Keeper
Harry Kane thought he’d scored a vital goal on Tuesday when he buried a penalty against Monaco. Sadly, Tottenham gave up the lead less than a minute later by giving up an exceedingly weak goal. Hopefully if he scores this weekend the team won’t fritter away their advantage so frivolously.
There is some concern that Kane isn’t fit enough to start three matches in a row. It might be risky, but I just can’t see Pochettino resting him at Stamford Bridge. Vincent Janssen’s struggles make him borderline unplayable at the moment.
Truthfully, the prudent choice might be to start Janssen and pray for the best. Pochettino won’t be in the mood for caution though. He’ll roll the dice and play Kane if he’s capable of walking upright prior to the crucial encounter.
In goal, Hugo Lloris will once again be called upon to save Tottenham no matter what. He’s always capable of magnificent saves and it might take a few of them to keep Spurs in the match against Chelsea’s classy attack. The French captain will need to be at his best to get his side a positive result.
