12. Axel Tuanzebe
Despite having not yet made a competitive first-team appearance for Manchester United, Axel Tuanzebe is very highly rated at Old Trafford. The 19-year old defender has trained with the first-team quite a few times over the last year. He was on the substitutes’ bench for the first team at the mere age of 17 last season.
Unfortunately his rise was halted by an injury. But Tuanzebe returned in time to help the United reserves win the title. He has been named the captain for the U23s side since, and Jose Mourinho played Tuanzebe in the club’s first pre-season friendly this season.
Tuanzebe is strong and a sharp reader of the game. He is quick and has a really strong personality. Tuanzebe was the first player since Gary Neville to be named the U18s captain as a first-year scholar. And it won’t be a surprise if Tuanzebe is leading the United first team 10 years from now.
Tuanzebe has received high praise from both Jose Mourinho and Nicky Butt, and they will be hoping that Tuanzebe can live up to his huge potential and become a world-class centre back at United.
