6. Leroy Sane
The German winger came through the ranks at Schalke 04 where he made 47 appearances scoring 11 goals over two years. His performances earned him a £37m move to Manchester City in the summer. Sane signed a five-year deal as he became a part of the Pep Guardiola revolution at the club.
Since his move to Manchester, Sane has struggled however. Injuries and a lack of confidence have made it a tough transition for the German. The 20-year old has made just 8 appearances for the club since his big move and has found it hard to make an impact.
While he may have found it hard to settle, there is no doubt that Sane has great ability and potential. Blessed with great pace and trickery, Sane can play on either wing, as well as a number 10. Sane has great technical ability, is comfortable on the ball and loves getting past defenders.
It was his pace and ability on the ball that earned him a call-up to the German national team for the European Championships in 2016. While he may not have enjoyed the best of starts to his City career, there is no doubting Sane’s unlimited potential. Whether he can become a City icon remains to be seen, but Sane can reach his potential if he is given the time.
