3. Anthony Martial
Manchester United raised quite a few eyebrows when they signed the French forward on transfer deadline day in 2015 for an initial fee of £36 million from AS Monaco. But Martial announced himself at Old Trafford with a superb late winner against Liverpool on his debut to silence his doubters.
The goal set the tone for an amazing season in which Martial scored 17 goals and created another 8 for Manchester United. His goal against Stoke was also named as the Premier League goal of the season. His efforts did not go unnoticed by France. Martial was called up by the senior national team, and has made 15 appearances for Les Bleus, scoring once.
Martial was also the recipient of the 2015 Golden Boy Award for the best Under-21 player in Europe. He has often been compared with Thierry Henry because of his speed and technical ability both in the wide positions and up front.
This season however Martial has struggled to replicate his form of last season. After being involved in the Euro 2016, Martial did not get much rest in the summer. Some problems in his personal life may have also affected the striker.
But Martial is still only 20, and has a really bright future ahead of him. He has the chance to become a Manchester United legend under Jose Mourinho. Martial has great potential and if he can get his confidence back, he can achieve great things for both club and country.
