2. Gabriel Jesus
2016 has been a great year for Gabriel Jesus. The 19-year old has won the Olympic Gold medal with Brazil, scored 5 goals in 6 games for the Brazil national team and has earned a move to Premier League heavy-weights Manchester City. The forward is also set to win the Brazilian league title with his current club Palmeiras.
Since making his senior debut in 2015, Gabriel Jesus has scored 16 goals in 46 games. He won Brazil’s Young Player of the Year award in 2015, and has become the focal point for his national side.
His rise was noticed by the clubs in Europe as well. In the end, Manchester City secured the Brazilian’s signature for £27 million. It was announced that he would join City in January 2017 on a contract until 2021.
Gabriel Jesus has amazing potential and can become the new Brazilian sensation. He can play down the wings or up front. Jesus has often been compared with the likes of Neymar and Ronaldinho. His pace, work ethic and finishing are his greatest strengths.
While the Premier League is much tougher and more physical than the Brazilian league, Gabriel Jesus has all the attributes to succeed and become a star for Manchester City for years to come.
