19. Lewis Cook

Cook came through the Leeds United academy and made his debut for the club as 17 year-old. Last season he became a regular for the club and won the Football League Young Player of the Year Award, following in the footsteps of the likes of Dele Alli and Gareth Bale.

This summer a host of clubs including Liverpool were interested in signing Cook. But Bournemouth snapped up the 19-year old midfielder for a fee of £6 million. The youngster was put straight into the starting line-up for the Cherries’ first league game against Manchester United. While Bournemouth were beaten comprehensively, Cook was praised for his performance in the middle of the park.

Cook has since made two starts in the English League Cup. He has also featured for England at the U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19, and U-20 levels. The teenager’s progress was checked by Jack WIlshere’s arrival from Arsenal, and an ankle injury earlier in the season, which ruled him out until 2017.

But at only 19, Cook is one of the finest young midfielders in the country, and has all the attributes to become a full England international in the future.
